Not sure what to use to punch holes on my doll's ears

Yeah, that's pretty much my question. I have a Dollfie for reference and I am not sure what I can use to punch a hole so I can put earrings on them. Can you use a needle on this? haha! I'm sorry, I'm new to all of these. thanks everyone!

Hey, no worries at all!!

For punching holes for earrings, you definitely don't want to use a regular sewing needle.. that could crack or damage the resin! What you'll need is a pin vise with a tiny drill bit, usually 1mm or 1.5mm. You can find these at most hobby shops or online. It's a small, handheld tool that lets you slowly and carefully drill a clean hole without risking damage to the resin.

Go slow and steady, and maybe practice on a scrap piece of resin if you have any just so you know how it feels and the effort needed. Have fun accessorizing your doll!!

Here's how I do it,
mark the spots with a pencil, then turn the head to make sure both sides line up. Use a tiny drill bit and twist it in by hand, slow and steady. Make sure to angle it so it comes out the back of the earlobe , not into the head. A quick tip, warming the drill bit a little can make piercing easier, but dont heat it too much!

Would heating up help with this? I've read some people online saying that heating up the tip helps the pin or needle go through easily. Not saying that's the right way, just asking.
