Dear Artist,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am reaching out because I am working on a very special project, and after seeing your work, I believe you may be the right person to help.

I am trying to recreate the childhood doll of someone very important to me. The only surviving reference is a photograph taken around 1966–1968 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.

Over the past several weeks I have conducted extensive research on the doll shown in the photograph. Based on the available evidence, it appears to have been a simple, inexpensive commercial doll, likely manufactured sometime between the late 1950s and the mid-1960s, featuring a soft cloth body and what appears to be a stockinette cloth head.

My goal is not to create a modern artistic interpretation, but rather a historically believable reconstruction that captures the appearance and spirit of the original doll.

I have attached the original photograph, enlarged details, and a research summary describing the doll's likely materials, construction, proportions, and historical context.

I understand that an exact reproduction may not be possible due to the limited visual information available. However, I hope to recreate a doll that faithfully represents what it most likely looked like.

If you believe this project is technically feasible and would be interested in collaborating, I would greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts, your proposed approach, and an estimate of cost and production time.

This project is about much more than making a doll.

It is about bringing back a small piece of someone's childhood.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Kind regards,

José
