Collector’s dilemma

Hey, I have some dolls that are still in their original sets. I'm thinking about giving them a little makeover, but I'm worried if doing so will lower what they are worth. Has anyone here done this before?

I hear you, it's a real dilemma!
Once you take a doll out of its original box, the value to a serious collector drops significantly.
It's not just about the doll itself, but also the packaging and any accessories that came with it.
If you're hoping to sell them for a high price down the line, I'd say it's best to leave them as is.
I'm into doll customs, so if you're like me and you're in this hobby for the love of creating and customizing, then the real value is in the joy you get from making them your own.
I've customized plenty of dolls that were once never removed from the box, and I've never regretted it!
For me, it's more about having a unique doll that brings me happiness than worrying about a future sale.
Just be aware that once you start, there's no going back.
If they aren't super rare dolls, I say go for it and have some fun with it!

Are you into dolls as they were originally made, or the customized kinds? Also, which dolls are you thinking about getting? Knowing this will help me figure out how much they're worth.
