Hi everyone,

I have a 1/6 Kanamit by Sideshow and I want to change the outfit with a custom one, but I realized the rope won’t come off unless I remove the head first.

I tried pulling it gently with moderate force, but I’m afraid of breaking it. Does anyone know how the head is supposed to come off on this doll?

I imagine some people will suggest heating it with a hair dryer or hot water, but both the rope and the white sweater go all the way up to the neck, and I’m worried about damaging or staining them.

Any advice would be appreciated. I’m attaching two pictures of the item.

Thanks in advance.

Afaik, most Sideshow figures from that era use a friction-fit ball joint or a pliable plastic socket over a plastic peg. Older Sideshow pegs can become brittle. I don't exactly know how to remove that but my rule of thumb is if you feel a "crunchy" resistance rather than a "rubbery" one, stop immediately and add more heat.
