Sewing for the dolls is one of my favorite reasons for having them.

Below is my American Girls size version of a Mexican Folkloric dress. The bottom of the dress hem is 10 yards around.

Folklorico doll..webp

Wow, Mary, that must have taken you a long time to make. What is the white fabric? I've only sewn simple things for my American Girl doll. Basic pull-on pants, a t-shirt, or a basic dress.

The stripes are the 1/8 rolls of ribbon that JoAnn's stores used to have. Each roll was 10 yards. Each of those 3 colors on the bottom looks like a whole roll with maybe 2 or 3 inches left over. They are triple zig-zag stitched to keep them lying down nicely.
And thank you for the compliment.

Are you telling me you made a doll dress with the bottom edge being 30 feet? Amazing. It looks very much folkloric in style.

What a gorgeous dress. Making a Mexican folkloric dress for an American Girl doll is a lovely way to honor craftsmanship and culture.

I'm not even half way your sewing skills! this is beautiful. I used to sew tiny dresses for my daughter's Blythes
