Restringing loose parts

Hi everyone! I’m trying to fix up a vintage doll that belonged to my grandma. Her arms and legs are super loose, and I think she needs restringing. I’ve never done this before. any tips for a first-timer?

@timmy66 you need to get the right cord, don't use regular sewing elastic or rubber bands bcs they degrade quickly and aren't strong enough. You need Doll Stringing Elastic (or specialized bungee cord for some modern dolls). depends on your doll's size, small dolls (under 12") usually need 2mm or 3mm cord.
medium to large dolls (15" to 22"+) usually need 3mm to 5mm cord for better tension.
measure the diameter of the hole/opening in the doll's limb to make sure the cord will fit through

Restringing isn't too bad once you get the hang of it, the tricky part is getting tension right...too loose and limbs will be floppy, too tight and they're stiff or won't pose well
