does volks usually finish character sets?

I've got Anya on preorder and just picked up a secondhand Yor in great shape, but now I'm wondering if Volks is ever going to give us a Lloyd to complete the Forger trio. I'm not a huge Spy Family fan, but the character dolls look so good together that it feels weird not having him.

I've thought about commissioning a custom, but I'd hate to sink that much money into one just for Volks to drop an official Lloyd a few months later. For those of you who've followed Volks releases longer... do they usually finish out a set like this, or is it hit or miss?

I don't expect Lloyd at all. Male DDs are the exception, not the rule. They've made 9S, Len, Kaito and SAO's Kirito in terms of licensed male dolls. Oh, that new dude from FFXIV, too. No Tuxedo Mask, no Shinji and Kaworu, no FGO guys!

Volks has become hard to predict lately. Frieren got a version 2 in under 2 years. There hasn't been a Type-Moon DD since 2023, even though the Fate series used to be as much a DD staple as Vocaloid. That said, I wouldn't expect Lloyd, and/or Yor v.2 (if Lloyd happens, they'll do another Yor with him) without a new season or movie of Spy x Family first. You're safe to go ahead with your custom.

Volks sometimes finishes sets, but it’s not reliable, some trios or series never get all the characters. If you really want Lloyd, a custom might be safer than waiting and hoping

Volks hasn’t said anything about a Lloyd release yet, and with how unpredictable their licensing is, it’s really a toss up. If you’re set on completing the trio soon, I’d go for a custom and just treat it as your version. If an official one drops later, then that’s just a nice bonus.
