Authenticating a Dollfie Dream from a con

I picked up a Dollfie Dream at a local anime convention last weekend for $250. The seller said it was official but didn't have any paperwork. How do I verify it's a legit Volks doll and not a recast?

look for the volks markings, that's the easiest way, most dollfie dreams have a stamp on the back of the headplate with the volks logo and a serial number

Unless you got Snow Miku, or Miku cosplaying Saber, you're good. The only bootleg DDs are of Miku.
There's more info, including comparison photos, here: https://www.dolldreaming.com/topic/277-fake-dollfie-dreams/?do=findComment&comment=226936

So, you almost certainly have an official DD. The face-up may well be a custom, though, probably on a standard blank head. Nothing wrong with that, many of us have great Dollfie OCs. As much fun as it is to have a doll of a favorite anime character, it can be even more fun to have a character of my own creation in doll form.

Great, thanks for the pointers on checking the headplate and comparing against the bootleg guide. I’ll go over the doll tonight and should know pretty quickly if it’s authentic.
